VAX-SAFE: Vaccination Safety Score for Immunosuppressed Patients Based on ACR 2022 and EULAR 2019 Guidelines
We implement the ACR 2022 and EULAR 2019 vaccination guidelines as a computational score for immunosuppressed patients with rheumatic diseases. Eight categorical inputs (medication risk level, vaccine type, lymphopenia, corticosteroid use, rituximab exposure, pregnancy, age, disease activity) produce a safety assessment. The algorithm is a direct translation of published guideline decision trees, not a novel clinical tool. No patient data was used. The score does not replace clinical judgment and has not been validated against outcomes.
VAX-SAFE
What it is
Direct computational translation of ACR 2022 + EULAR 2019 vaccination guidelines for immunosuppressed patients.
Inputs
8 categorical: medication risk (0-4), vaccine type (0-3: inactivated/mRNA/viral vector/live), lymphopenia, steroids, rituximab, pregnancy, age>65, active disease.
Not a novel tool
This is guideline implementation, not original research. The clinical recommendations come entirely from ACR 2022 and EULAR 2019.
